Earlier this week, I met with Kimberly, the wedding and events coordinator, at the Upcountry History Museum! She asked me to be on her Preferred Wedding Vendor List (which I happily agreed), and invited me to come take a tour of the location. I must say that I was impressed! The space is very unique in that it offers a lot of different options for setting up the flow of any wedding and reception event. Brides will fall in love with the beautiful double winding staircases reaching down around the dance floor! Guests can enjoy mingling on the mezzanine, while enjoying a view of the dance floor. Tables can be spaced strategically throughout the venue, while maintaining close proximity to all of the reception action. For example, tables for wedding guests to relax while enjoying dinner or cake, can be placed on the mezzanine, or just past the staircases in the next section. This allows the dance floor to be  completely free of tables, which is a HUGE benefit in my opinion; this is usually not the case with many other wedding venues! One thing that came to my mind as I looked over the space, is the that each section within the venue is perfectly set up  for different themes. Themes are what often makes a wedding and reception unique to each couple. In the past few months,  I have noticed quite a few “rustic wedding”, and “Southern Girl” themes, so brides will love what they can create with the space provided here.

One major plus that must be noted, is that Kimberly has many years of wedding and event planning here in Greenville, and she is eager to offer her expertise beyond simply renting brides space for their wedding. I will put her into adopting the Flying Pig Photography work ethic; she will definitely be going “Above and Beyond” for her brides and grooms! Give her a call to see if the Upcountry History Museum is the right wedding venue for you!
