Charlotte and Aaron are such a sweet couple! Ever since Miranda and I went to Decatur, GA to photograph their engagement session, we have been looking forward to seeing them again and being their wedding photographers. We arrived at the Marion Hatcher Center around three in the afternoon, in order to get a few images of Charlotte’s final preparations in getting ready for her wedding ceremony. The front of the wedding venue is absolutely amazing, in terms of architecture and photography opportunities, so we headed outside to create a few images, even despite the chilly wind outside. This did not last very long; the girls were all very patient and braved the chilly weather quite well. We finished up the “formal” photography of the groomsmen as well, and then it was about time for the wedding. The ceremony was held inside in a gorgeous room with beautiful natural light and rustic hardwood floors. The wedding reception was also at the Marion Hatcher Center, and was only a few rooms away. The reception ballroom is a beautiful area which featured lovely hardwood floors, elegant chandeliers, and provides space that works very well to separate a dining area from dancing without a wall. The centerpieces for each guest table featured some vintage video games from Aaron’s personal collection, playbills from Charlott’s collection, cigar boxes in that belonged to Charlotte’s father, and hand made art pieces by Aaron’s mother- very nice touches! After the cutting of the cake and the traditional tossing of the garter and bouquet, guests piled onto the dance floor to entertain themselves (and us as well). Most notably, was the theatrical dancing, complete with lots of funny exaggerated facial expressions : ) Loads of fun! Miranda and I were super-stoked about our cool gift from the newlyweds, a flying pig (see image). We love her already, and named her Gloria – Thanks!
Thanks Again Charlotte and Aaron, for allowing us to be a part of your wedding, and creating beautiful photography for you two.
